Dr. Stephanie Beane is a Biostatistician at Emory University, where she has been with the Rollins School of Public Health since 2015 and was with Emory School of Medicine from 2010 to 2015. With over 15 years of experience in public health research, data management, and statistical modelling, Dr. Beane is adept at causal inference strategies to minimize bias when studying the impact of policy on underserved populations. Her work has focused on underserved populations such as persons living with HIV, substance use disorder, or injection drug use, and how policy impacts health outcomes among these populations.

  • Maternal Health Inequities: Using rigorous causal inference methods to  study inequities in maternal morbidity and mortality among underserved populations.
  • Health Policy and Advocacy: Examining the impact of health policies and geospatial characteristics on maternal health outcomes.
