Shontel Cargill is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) driven by a profound commitment to serving others and effecting positive change in mental health. With over a decade of experience in clinical and leadership roles, she currently serves as the Regional Clinic Director at Thriveworks, overseeing offices in Georgia and Louisiana. Her dedication to perinatal mental health stems from personal experiences as a survivor and advocate, driving her to serve as President of the Georgia Chapter of Postpartum Support International. After experiencing the loss of her daughter at 28 weeks and surviving a maternal near-miss, Shontel dedicates herself to aiding pregnant and postpartum individuals, along with their families, who are impacted by perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, birth trauma, infertility, and maternal mortality in Georgia. Selected to serve on the Maternal Mortality Review Committee, she strives to eradicate disparities in healthcare, expand trauma-informed care, and enhance access to perinatal mental health services statewide.
