Dr. Natalie D. Hernandez-Green, PhD, MPH is an Associate Professor and Founding Executive Director of the Center for Maternal Health Equity at Morehouse School of Medicine. A social and behavioral scientist with over 20 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to transforming systems, policies, and practices to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in maternal morbidity and mortality.
A nationally recognized leader in maternal health equity, Dr. Hernandez-Green has led multiple NIH, HRSA, and foundation-funded studies, and has cultivated a robust ecosystem of community-academic partnerships, uniting researchers, reproductive justice advocates, clinicians, and policymakers to co-design interventions grounded in lived experience. Dr. Hernandez-Green also leads a number of maternal health research studies, including a NIDA-funded community-based study (ECHO) with Dr, Cooper, to learn more about ways to help women who use drugs to survive and thrive during and after their pregnancy
