Marielysse Cortés

Ms. Cortés is Director of Projects for the Rollins Program in Substance Use Disorders (SPARK) in in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences at Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.SPARK is funded by the O. Wayne Rollins foundation to help end suffering from substance use disorders and related harms by advancing research and supporting the development of interventions to close the implementation chasm.

Ms. Cortés, MSW has nearly 20 years of experience in research, including public health experience in HIV prevention, vaccines, and dementia caregiver interventions. In addition to holding a Master in Social Work degree with a concentration on Community Partnerships, she possesses extensive experience managing global and domestic public health research, compliance, and training and has expertise in grants management, faculty/staff training and development, and strategic planning.  

Ms. Cortés works closely with the CORAL leadership to build the center infrastructure and support overall center operations, including management of required regulatory submissions, annual progress reporting, coordination of meetings and events, and fiscal management in coordination with the financial analyst assigned to the award.
