Kaila Pouncy is the Deputy Director of RestoreHER US.America, a policy strategist, and an emerging philanthropist whose national work advances gender-responsive justice and systemic transformation for women impacted by incarceration. She entered this work as a product of the American South, coming of age within one of the fastest-growing incarcerated demographics and becoming deeply committed to understanding the structural drivers of women’s criminalization and contributing to lasting solutions. Her career spans grassroots organizing, multisector policy design, and national advocacy efforts that have informed legislative reforms, strengthened institutional accountability, and elevated directly impacted women as central partners in systems change. Today, her leadership supports evidence-based reform, trauma-informed practice, and philanthropic investments that expand access, equity, and dignity for women across the criminal legal landscape.
