Hannah Cooper

Dr. Hannah Cooper is a Professor in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences and Epidemiology and Rollins Chair in Substance Use Disorders Research at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. For >20 years Dr. Cooper has used rigorous methods to generate actionable evidence about the causes of drug-related harms, overall and across key subpopulations. Her work has guided public health planning activities in multiple metro areas and states. In addition to co-leading CORAL, Dr. Cooper currently directs the Research Core for the Injury Prevention Center at Emory (IPRCE) and co-leads a NIDA-funded T32 pre-doctoral training program on applying data analytics to end drug-related harms. Since 2023, together with Dr. Hernandez, she has led a NIDA-funded community-based qualitative study called ECHO, which is designed to learn more about ways to help women who use drugs survive and thrive during and after their pregnancies.
