Cyen Peterkin

Cyen Peterkin is a Biostatistician in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences at the Rollins School of Public Health, where she began her role in 2024. Ms. Peterkin holds a Master of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Biostatistics from the Rollins School of Public Health. With extensive experience in data-driven research and development, Ms. Peterkin is an emerging scientist passionate about utilizing statistical analysis and data insights to address critical public health issues, including maternal health, drug harm reduction, and health inequalities.

Research Interests

  • Maternal Health: Utilizing the reproductive justice framework to examine the conditions that affect marginalized birthing people and how these factors influence pregnancy and birth outcomes.
  • Drug Harm Reduction: Analyzing outcomes associated with drug use to inform public health strategies that prioritize prevention, risk reduction, and the advancement of health.
  • Health Inequalities: Investigating access to health resources and the systematic disparities in health outcomes driven by racial, socioeconomic, and geographical factors.
